The Telugu community of Greater Toronto Area organized World Telugu Conference 2017 awareness meeting at Pearl Banquet Hall, 1638 Aimco Blvd, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Several Telugu community leaders, Language and Literary professionals, Telugu Writers, Poets, Business entrepreneurs, and artists joined the WTC planning session.

Sri Mahesh Bigala, WTC – NRI Coordinator received a grand welcome by Toronto community leaders. In his keynote address to the community, Sri Mahesh Bigala garu informed that the State Government of Telangana making the World Telugu Mahasabhalu, a prestigious event to highlight the significance of the Telugu Language and the Literature. The Telangana Government and The Sahitya Akademi is jointly organising the World Telugu Conference in a big scale in Hyderabad from December 15 to 19. On behalf of Hon. Chief Minister Sri K Chandrasekhar Rao garu and his dynamic Telangana team, he provided their personal invitation to all the Canada Telugu community and requested them to participate in various segments at the Hyderabad World Telugu Mahasabhalu. He then showed an amazing video clip on the planning and arrangements of the World Telugu Mahasabhalu with the highlights of the mega Telugu world Conference.

Telangana Development Forum Vice President Vijaya Lakshmi Madupu delivered the welcome address and acted as the moderator to all the proceedings of the evening. In her opening remarks she said our Telugu Language is sweeter than any other languages and we all have the responsibility to preserve and transfer it to the new generations to come.

Sri Mahesh Bigala, WTC – NRI Coordinator felicitated Sri Kulasekhar Rao Madapu garu, Telangana Telugu Literary Legendary Poet. Acknowledged his enormous contributions towards the Telugu Language and Literary. He also provided special invitation to Kulasekhar Rao garu to attend the World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad.

Saroja Komaravoulu, Telugu writer and the founder of Telugu Literary Club in Canada, spoke with beautiful phrases of the Telugu, received a huge round of applause from the audience for her Telugu Proficiency. She acknowledged the Telangana Government’s initiative to invite Telugu people from Canada to participate in the World Telugu Conference.

Surya Bezawada, Trustee, Telugu Cultural Association of Greater Toronto (TCAGT) and business entrepreneur provided the best wishes to the WTC conference coordination committee. In his remarks, he stated that how various Telugu community organizations in Canada, preserving our Telugu Cultural Heritage and making our traditions alive to the Children in Canada to cherish. He painted the picture of upcoming WTC grand success with the last year’s Ayutha Chandi Yagam scale. He commended the efforts of the Telengana State Government in bringing the world Telugu leaders into one huge mega conference in Hyderabad. He also brought the attention of the collaboration between Canada and Telangana government and their progress in huge Trade partnerships. He advised all the Canada Telugu organizations to promote and participate in the World Telugu Conference.

Telangana Development Forum President Srikanth Reddy acknowledge the community members and leaders in their participation in making the Toronto World Telugu Conference awareness session a grand success. He called all the Telugu community associations to come together in organizing a combined Telugu Event in Canada to show our unity and strength to the rest of the world.

TDF Joint Secretary Arshad Ghori thanked the Telangana Government for mandating Urdu as the second language in schools. He invited all the community members to participate in WTC, Hyderabad.

Manabadi Founder member Gurunath Desu spoke on the achievements of Mana Badi team in teaching Telugu language to the kids in Canada.

Telugu Talli news letter editor Lakshmi Rayavarapu informed the audience that the efforts of her team in bringing Telugu Literature and articles to the on-line Telugu community.

Popular singers Sai Kiran and Sai Krishna Udari presented the Telangana state traditional prayer song and other melodious Telugu songs enthralled the attendees.

TCAGT team headed by Treasurer Devi Chowdhary, TDF Executive team felicitated Sri Mahesh Bigala garu with floral bouquets.

Sri Mahesh Bigala, WTC – NRI Coordinator provided vote of thanks and the event ended with chanting Indian National Anthem. WTC Organizers served the attendees with delicious and spicy traditional dinner. The event was mixed with fun, excitement and huge acknowledgment.
