Detroit Telangana Community Adopts Highway

Detroit Telangana Community (DTC) which has been conducting various Telangana events from past 14 years for the Telangana community in Metro Detroit is happy to participate in Adopt-A-Highway program which is a Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) program designed to help keep the state’s highway roadsides clean and attractive. DTC signed up for this program to adopt both sides of a section of M-5 highway (between Orchard Lake rd and Middlebelt rd) in Farmington hills, Michigan to clean up roadside over a two-year period. In return, DTC would be recognized by MDOT with Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)-approved full-color signs featuring DTC’s name and logo on both sides of the designated section of the highway.

DTC volunteers toiled for four hours on Saturday, September 21st to clean up the litter along the roadside of the assigned highway. DTC’s one of the core values is to give something back to the local community we live in and with the participation of this program we once again proved that DTC is a civic-minded non-profit organization who care for the local community and the environment in order to make them cleaner and better.

Raju Brahmandhabheri(current President), Ramgopal Uppula(Past President and Advisory committee), Bhujanga Rao Kotte(Past President and Advisory committee),Hari Parankusham(Immediate past president), Vijay Pallerla(Board member), Satheesh Pingili(Board member), Srinivasa Raju Dhenuvakonda(Board member), Sharath Veldanda(Board member), Ravi Chiluka(Eexecutive Committee), Ramu Kathuroju(DTC Life member), Sridhar Nalla and Pranay Nalla(DTC Life members) participated in this program.
