Telangana Association of United Kingdom (TAUK) grandly celebrated “Chenetha Bathukamma and Dasara” in London. NRIs and Indian Community organisation representatives from across UK attended this event. Events In-charge Ratnakar Kadudula said, As a responsible Citizens and with the great inspiration from Telangana government and especially IT Minister KTR, we named and dedicated this event as “ Chenetha Bathukamma & Dasara” to get a wider support and attention to wear handlooms in every occasion. Cultural In-charge Sathya chilumula said, organised Shami Pooja as per tradition and also conducted Dasara “Alai-Bhalai”, where we all exchanged shami leaves and pledged to support Weavers. Women performed #Bathukamma with great energy, women singing Bathukamma songs and playing traditionally reflecting as if it was happening at back home Telanagna. Specially prepared kakatiya kala toranam was the special attraction of the event and many were found taking selfies and pictures, also appreciated the organisers for showcasing telangana culture on global platform in very well manner. Rajysabha MP Santhosh Joginapally initiative to involve in #GreenIndiaChallenge has impressed the NRIs across globe and especially NRIs in UK appreciated his concern and such revolutionary initiative to save the nature inspired everyone. In support to this program all the NRIs participated in this event has pledged to support this cause and to mark it they have launched a huge poster in support to MP santhosh mission to make difference in the community. Indian high commission first secretary Rahul, Hounslow Mayor Tony Louki attended the celebrations and praised TAUK efforts in promoting Telangana Culture and especially Handloom weavers. IHC First Secretary Rahul Said, He is very happy to be part of the event which is been celebrated with great enthusiasm and energy. He also remembered his association with Andhra & Telangana during his study days and thanked the organisers for inviting and making IHC part of it. Finally, appreciated TAUK organisers in taking our Indian culture forward, so that next generation can follow and respect it. TAUK founder Anil Kurmachalam said, Our organisation is always in support of the Government especially for any initiative taken to support the poor and needy, like supporting weavers. As a responsible NRIs we have made this event as “Chenetha Bathukamma & Dasara” encouraging everyone to wear and support handloom weavers in every occasion, either it is social or personal. TAUK President Pavithra Kandi conveyed that we have encouraged everyone to wear Handloom clothes for this celebrations to create awareness in community. very pleased to see many wore Handloom for celebrations, also thanked the guests and especially TRS MP Smt. Kavitha for her continues support and encouragement to us. TAUK Organisers felicitated all the guests with the specially imported Handloom shawls from Telangana state.
