American Telugu Association (ATA) Washington DC chapter has conducted International Women’s Day event in Chinmaya Somnath facility, Chantilly, VA on Sunday March 10 with pomp and grandeur.
The event was organized by DC team, over 1000 people attended this event. ATA has been instrumental in community service and as part of IWD’s celebrations, in addition to having cultural programs, inspiring and motivating community leaders, exciting vendor and food stalls, this time the DC-team had come up with a panel discussion with elite panelists from legal, medical, social engagement and business areas to ignite a sense of awareness amongst women regarding Work-Life Balance, legal women rights and financial knowledge, Health & Family. As part of this Panel we also had head of ASHA for Women organization who explained about how they are helping women in our community who are going through domestic violence.
ATA Leadership have honored Kavita Challa, Indira Kumar and Avanthika Nakshtram who have significantly contributed to the community.
Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton was the chief guest of the evening and talked about women empowerment and thanked ATA for organizing such a great event.
ATA-DC chapter recognized all Sponsors. Organizers thanked all Raffle sponsors’ which made the evening very exciting. Leadership thanked all volunteers who all worked really hard for the past 6 weeks to put together this great event.
