Ekal Dallas Hosts A Magical Evening – 'Yeh Shaam Mastani'

The Ekal Vidyalaya Dallas Chapter orchestrated an unforgettable evening of music, philanthropy, and community celebration with 'Yeh Shaam Mastani' on June 1st, 2025, at Unity of Dallas Auditorium. This annual fundraising and donor recognition event brought together over 300 attendees, including Ekal donors, sponsors, and charity enthusiasts, all united by the shared mission of empowering rural and tribal India through education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

Inspiring Addresses & Impactful Mission

Ekal Dallas Chapter President, Subbu Jonnalagadda, along with chapter team members Chetan Raval, Chinasatyam Veernapu, and Prem Suhalka, addressed the gathering, sharing the history, impact, and current initiatives of Ekal Vidyalaya. Their words resonated deeply, reinforcing Ekal’s vision of nurturing self-reliant changemakers and uplifting some of the most underserved communities in rural India.

Adding further momentum to the evening, Ekal USA South West Region President, Rajeev Aluru, made a special trip from Houston to engage with donors, community members, and volunteers. In his inspiring address, he shed light on Ekal’s extensive efforts, including literacy programs benefiting over 10 million students, computer training, e-education, skills training, healthcare initiatives, women’s empowerment programs, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition gardens. He also emphasized the vital role of donor contributions in expanding these efforts and called upon attendees to support Ekal’s mission further.

An Enchanting Musical Experience

Following these inspiring moments, the stage lit up with a mesmerizing musical performance by DFW-based band "Nisarga", led by accomplished musician Raja Suribhotla and his talented team. Their spot-on renditions of iconic Bollywood classics received rave reviews from the audience, with many applauding how closely the artists' performances matched the original singers.

One of the evening’s most memorable highlights was an incredible bass guitar performance by young musician Kartik Vutukuru, whose talent left the audience in awe. The night’s festivities were expertly hosted by Sashi Pemmaraju, a dedicated Ekal donor and passionate music enthusiast, who served as the event’s MC.
