Sai Samaj of Saginaw Hosts 9th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service

The Sai Samaj Hindu Temple hosted the 9th Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on November 23, bringing together more than 200 attendees from over ten faith traditions across the Great Lakes Bay Region. Sponsored by Interfaith Saginaw, the gathering emphasized peace, cooperation, and shared humanity. Murali Ginjupalli, Founder of Sai Samaj of Saginaw, opened the evening with a warm welcome, followed by a message of gratitude from John Lowry, Stake President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The service featured an Opening Litany led by representatives from multiple religious communities, highlighting unity and compassion. Rich faith expressions followed from groups including the Tri-City Hindu Temple, Sai Samaj of Saginaw, Jain community, Islamic Center of Saginaw, Baha’i Faith, Mid-Michigan Singh Sabha, Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, Christian Ecumenical Choir, LDS Youth Orchestra, and Kingdom Life Ministries Church. Music, prayers, dance, and reflections created a powerful tapestry of spiritual diversity.

Attendees contributed offerings to support Hidden Harvest, with Executive Director Samantha McKenzie sharing the organization’s mission. The evening continued with a community dinner donated by various faith groups, remarkable for its abundance and the shared sense of gratitude—every dish served and appreciated without waste.

Organizers including Shrini, Sneha, Shuba, Rohini, Monica, Vishaka, Praneet, Aneesha, Karthik, Sambasiva Rao, and Babu ji were honored for their dedication. The event concluded as a memorable celebration of unity, embodying the true spirit of Thanksgiving and standing as one of the region’s most meaningful interfaith gatherings.
