Mega Kamma Mahanadu in Tamil Nadu By KGF On February 8th
The Kamma Global Federation (KGF) today announced Kamma Mahanadu, a mega global gathering, scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026, at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. The announcement was made by Jetti Kusuma Kumar, Founder and President of KGF, along with senior leaders of the Federation, at the Press Club of India, New Delhi.
Addressing the gathering, Jetti Kusuma Kumar said that the rapid social and political changes sweeping across the country makes organised participation increasingly important. Across the country, communities are finding ways to protect their interests and ensure continuity. Our focus is on safeguarding our presence, recognising our contributions, and preparing the next generation for leadership roles, he added.
Tamil Nadu, the natural host for the Mahanadu, is home to the largest Kammavar population in India, estimated at 65 lakhs. The state has produced many eminent community figures such as Bollineni Munuswami Naidu, G.D. Naidu, Narayana Swami Naidu, Arkat Veera Swami Naidu, and Vaiko, who have made significant contributions in different fields such as agriculture, public life, innovation, and social reform. The region also has a strong historical legacy of leaders and dynasties including Virapandya Katta Brahman, Tirumala Naikar, Mangamma, and the Ravella and Pemmasani dynasties.
On the issue of political representation, Kusuma Kumar noted that although Bollineni Munuswami Naidu, the first Chief Minister of the Madras Presidency, hailed from the Kamma community, its political presence in Tamil Nadu has declined over the decades. One of the long-term objectives of this Mahanadu is to enable the representation of at least 30 Kamma MLAs across political parties in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly and to work towards securing a Deputy Chief Minister post in future governments, he added.
The announcement also referred to the World Kamma Summit, held in Hyderabad last year, marking KGF’s first international conference and which drew thousands of delegates from multiple Indian states and foreign shores. Building on this organisational momentum, the upcoming Kamma Mahanadu at Sriperumbudur is expected to draw nearly one million members of the community to a single venue to exchange views on ways to strengthen the future of the Kamma community.
Kamma Global Federation stands as a beacon of unity and a catalyst for empowerment, beckoning all Kammas, Kammanaidus, Chowdary, irrespective of their geographical borders, to step into a shared space of cultural pride, professional excellence, entrepreneurship, and social responsibility. The KGF is not just an organization, it’s a movement. It’s about harnessing the collective potential of the Kamma community across the world to create a brighter future for all. The KGF has been initiated recognising the evolving needs of our community and with a commitment to foster unity and provide comprehensive support for the holistic development of the present and future generations of Kamma community members.
